Terms of Service

By accessing or using Memex ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

Memex is a personal knowledge management application that allows users to save, organize, and retrieve web resources, videos, code repositories, and personal notes using AI-powered semantic search.

The Service uses Google Gemini APIs for content summarization, tag generation, and vector embedding. It uses Supabase for data storage and authentication.

To use Memex, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your password and account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
• Save or distribute illegal, harmful, or offensive content
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' data
• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Circumvent any security measures or rate limits

You retain ownership of all content you save to Memex ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to process Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service (including AI summarization and embedding generation).

You are solely responsible for Your Content and represent that you have the right to save and process it through the Service. We do not claim ownership of Your Content and will not use it for any purpose other than providing the Service.

The Service integrates with third-party services including:

• Google Gemini APIs: For AI processing. Subject to Google's Terms of Service.
• Supabase: For data storage and authentication. Subject to Supabase's Terms of Service.
• Jina Reader API: For web content extraction. Subject to Jina's Terms of Service.

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of these third-party services.

The Service, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by Memex and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our express written permission.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated summaries and tags will be accurate. AI outputs are provided for convenience and may contain errors.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MEMEX SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, for a free service, is zero).

You may terminate your account at any time by deleting it from your account settings. Upon termination, all your data will be permanently deleted from our systems within 30 days.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, with or without notice.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.
